So, Friday night, my son came down with the ick that has been plaguing school-aged kids for the last couple of weeks. Fever, sore throat, runny nose, sluggish, you know – the usual. Once I finally got him to sleep, it was time to check out the latest offering on Netflix – Fuller House! I popped some popcorn, poured myself a drink, put up my feet and settled in for a little binge-watching. What can I say, it’s one of my favorite ways to spend an evening!
I am not ashamed to admit that I was a big fan of the show when it premiered in 1987. I loved watching the exploits of Danny, Jesse and Joey as they raised Danny’s daughters DJ, Stephanie and Michelle. It was such a fun show, and when I heard that Fuller House was coming to Netflix, I had to admit, I hoped for the best, but expected the worst. I was pleasantly surprised, however, when I started watching the show over the weekend. Fuller House is great and brings back all my fond memories of the original show!
Fuller House takes place 29 years after Full House ends, and the first episodes brings back the entire cast (minus one – and the shout out about the one cast member who is missing is priceless) as Danny, Jesse and Becky prepare to move to LA and Joey moves to Las Vegas. DJ Tanner-Fuller, a recently widowed veterinarian, is living at the old house with her three boys – Jackson, Max and baby Tommy. I won’t give too much away, because I WANT you to watch Fuller House for yourself. But, as you can imagine, when Stephanie, Kimmy Gibbler and Kimmy’s daughter Ramona show up on the scene to help DJ out – well, it’s a fun throwback to the old show with some new twists.
To celebrate the premiere of Fuller House, Netflix has gathered “Netflix” collections of all the great Fuller House characters.
